Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District Preschool was officially established in 1973. We started with just one preschool class and one teacher for children age 3-4, offered as part of the Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District.

Over the past 40 years, we have blossomed from these humble beginnings. Now we have 9 experienced teachers on staff, over 150 preschool students, age 2 years 6 months through 6 years, and 2 campus locations: Pleasant Hill Winslow center and Pleasant Hill Community Center. We have flourished into the comprehensive preschool program you will find today.

Our goal is simple:
We want your child to love going to school!

Programs are designed to encourage your child to enjoy learning:

Our students love learning by doing.
We offer a wide variety of age-appropriate learning experiences designed to engage your child. This includes arts & crafts, music, theatre, small & gross motor activities, literature and hands-on science.

Our students feel special.
We get to know your child. We strive to understand his or her individual social, physical and academic needs. Your child will gain tools to realize his/her potential.

Our students feel good about themselves.
We highlight the positive! We praise good behavior and readily display all of their hard work. We recognize both big and small accomplishments and cheer for their successes.

Our students make good friends.
We encourage positive peer interaction with both free and directed play. Our classes are not just filled with classmates, but with friends.

Our students feel at home.
We provide a safe, comfortable and friendly environment to make this possible. Our teachers always have a hug on hand.

Our students love Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District Preschool.
Some of our first students from 1973 are now parents watching their own children blossom and grow in our preschool programs. Many of our students return year after year, simply to say 'hello' to their favorite teacher.
